Once upon a time, a pigeon named Patty worked
on a project for a client named Boots, a very sly pussy cat.
Patty was designing his website. Boots wanted a big beautiful
site full of interactive features that illustrate his company's
brilliant products. "Can you design this by next week, I have
to go to a trade show," he meowed. "And by the way, my budget
is one hundred dollars," he purred.
Patty, being the perfect web master, agreed to all his requests.
First she fetched her most talented graphic designer to creatively
mock-up three elegant prototypes within six hours. Second, she
asked a very versatile programmer to build several fun yet functional,
interactive games to display Boots' widgets. Then she assigned
her best project manager to work with Boots to collect all the
content for the website, or write the verbiage from scratch.
Lastly her favorite HTML programmer volunteered to integrate
all of these elements-graphic design, programs, and content-then
design an intuitive navigation system through out.
Sure enough in less than one week Boots had a magnificent 75
page site, with interactive games, fabulous content and superb
architecture, all for only $100.
The next week when Patty was unable to pay these very talented
staff what they were worth, they decided to cook her up for
dinner. "Mmmm, tastes like chicken," the graphic designer said
to the smiling project manager.

: This is only a fable. Great websites take time, cost money,
and the process does not happen in a week. Plan ahead. |
